MOGAN WRECKS:

A 20 minute boattrip takes you to the Mogan wrecks. This divesite is just outside the harbour of Mogan,a small fishing village on the South West coast of Gran Canaria. There are 2 wrecks laying 60 meters apart at a depth of 18 meters. The old wreck named "Alegranza" is the place to be for the Yellow Snappers, Barracudas, Weavers and Moray Eels. The new wreck was purposely sunk for the divers and also the yellow submarine which visit the wrecks every day. This wreck is a 45 meters long dutch fisherboat and is now already attractive for the Grounts, small fishes, Barracudas and sometimes Amberjacks. (See photos below)

ARGUINEGUIN REEF:

Just off of Arguineguin village, is this extensive reef. It only takes 15 minutes by boat and there you discover large schools of Yellow Snapper and Barracuda. Stingrays also frequent the reef which they share with Octopus and Trumpetfish. The reef starts at 10 meters and can go to 16 meters.

PASITO BLANCO:

Easily the best divesite in the south! A 20 minute boat trip takes you to this superb off shore "plateau". A long rocky platform gives you ample opportunity to swim with the extremely plentiful marinelife that make the reef 'home'. At the top of the reef (14 meters) you can watch the elegant butterfly ray as it effortlessly glides over the reef. Further down, you will find different types of rays such as Stingray and Eagleray. All this set against a background of purple Sea Anemones, White Braems, Parrotfish, Trumpetfish, Spirographs, Rock Lobster and Scorpion Fish - it is easy to see how Pasito Blanco has earned its reputation! The maximum depth is here 21 meters.

RAY BANK:

Further out to sea, near Pasito Blanco is an artificial reef built as a University Of Las Palmas conservation initative. They sank concrete blocks to form a long reef that now hosts many types of marine life including Rays, Barracuda, Llizard Fish and even Angel Sharks! We dive on one part of the reef at a maximum depth of 23 meters. Access by boat.

BALITO REEF:

This is one of our easy divesites, ideal for beginners. After a 5 minute boat trip, we find the reef just offshire. The reef that starts at 6 meters and goes to 14 meters. This reef offers the best opportunity for new divers to get comfortable under the water. The reef is inhabited by Starfish, Scorpionfish, Parrotfish, Wrasse and Damselfish. Access by boat.

BAHIA BLANCA REEF:

Just outside the barbour of Puerto Rico at the right we have the reef of Bahia Blanca.
With a maximum depth of 15 meters this rocky reef is the best reef for beginners.
There is no current and protected by the bay it is easy for doing excersises with the courses.This reef has also underwater sponges and different plantlife to be seen.
Access by boat.

MEDIO ALMUD:

Set on a rocky reef, this divesite is in 22 meters and has a small wreck called "Armando Theodoro". The school of Roncador Grunts, Stripped Mullets, Scorpionfish, Trumpetfish and Damselfish are waiting for you to find them! Access by boat.

WRECK OF THE BLUE BIRD:

The Blue Bird is a ferry that was sunk in the area between Taurito and Mogan. The boat now lies at a depth of 45 meters and its presence on the sandy bottom attracts much local fauna. This 30 meters long wreck, surrounded by large schools of Roncador Grunts, Barracudas, Rays and Amberjacks is the place to be for experienced divers.
Please note: Only experienced divers (minimum advanced with 100 dives) can join this divesite. Log book will be inspected prior to allowing you to dive. Access by boat.

EL CABRON /ARINAGA:

This is the only shoredive we can offer divers. "El Cabron" is a marine reserve on the east coast of Gran Canaria. It boasts a high variety of marine life such as Moray Eels, Roncador Grunts, Barracudas, Mullets, Wrasses, Groupers , Bream and Amberjacks and it is this diversity that makes this divesite so special. The max depth is between 22 meters and 35 meters. Being on the coast line the availability of this dive site is dependant on the weather. Prebooking is required as Cabron is a two dive, full day starting from 9.00am till 16.00pm. Transport by car.

MOGAN CAVES:

Mogan caves are natural caves under the water where the thermocline from fresh and salt watercan be seen. A large school of Trumpetfish and Rays hide in the caves. Acess by boat.


Below are some photographs shot on the Cermona II - a recently sunk wreck just out from Puerto Rico Harbour. The wreck has been stripped internally and it is possible to swim through the interior.
